on being 2,922 meters above sea level

ate nadine, thanks for inviting me to join the climb to mt. pulag (the highest mountain in luzon and also previously regarded as next to mt. apo in height) :)
thanks to everyone in the group who made the journey worthwhile and fun. thanks to the leaders of the group for all being patient and supportive to us, first-timers. thanks to the natives of the place who have been very kind and friendly.

i thought i won't be able to conquer the looooooooooooong trek, the freezing temperature, the steep slopes of the mountain range and the fear of not being able to reach the top but with His and their help, a really unforgettable experience was made possible -- seeing the sea of clouds at eye level, some even below the eye level; seeing the night sky with seemingly bigger and closer stars; waiting for the sun to rise on a mountain top; passing through forests with perhaps century-old plants and trees; surpassing all the challenges...

i believe any experience such as this will really lead you be thankful for a lot of things. besides the great company and the unexplainable experience of reaching the peak, there is also the wondrous nature which we all owe to the Creator and of course, the health and strength which He also lent us to have such feat.

i don't know how else i can express the feeling of having this great experience. hmmm, let me put it this way, it's just like you're really on cloud nine :)
