for ms.
earlier, we visited a former high school teacher who just celebrated her 72nd bday. you read it right, her 72nd bday. BUT she didn't look like she's 72.
she's already 60 when i had her as my teacher but she still looked the same when i saw her earlier. discreetly, i tried searching for signs of the 12-years-after effect on her face but i was unsuccessful. i was even reminded of the time she was with us when we went to banaue and sagada two years ago. she went deep into the cave with us. at 70 years old, i bet she was able to make a record then.
seeing her seemingly timeless appearance made me think that it was just yesterday when i sat in the classroom as her student listening attentively to every word she's saying. many regarded her as a strict mentor. i was also one of those who were very scared every time it's time for her class but i learned a lot from her. if that was the only way to impose discipline, then, why not?
because she still visits our school from time to time, i'm still learning from her, even from the stories that her former colleagues (who are now my colleagues) are telling. from these and from my belief, i know that she was and she is still a very dedicated teacher.
God bless her dearly. i believe she has poured all her heart into molding young minds and souls especially in her younger years. i really hope that God will continue to guide and strengthen her to keep on inspiring wandering people like me.
